As the company sees a significant rise in the number of enquiries they are receiving, Sue Fenn explained that having a strong relationship with local suppliers has proved to be invaluable in a time when material have been in short supply. Our goal has been to support our customers who were still manufacturing and supplying into the NHS.

Speaking about how the company has been supporting the NHS, Midtherm Laser supply into a wide market sector, many of these companies restructured there manufacturing processes over night to meet the needs of the NHS. “We as a company feel very proud to have been approached by ERIKS UK, who sought to bring like-minded companies together who wanted to support the NHS by offer their manufacturing facilities on a non-profit basis”.

Many of the products we manufactured were destined for the Nightingale hospital at the NEC.  In just a few days, and with a skeleton staff Midtherm Laser had started to supply   medical waste bins, hand sanitising stations along with ventilators, isolators, respirators, and face visors.

As a company we made the decision not to close our doors and with the support of our customers, of which many are new. Over the past few weeks, we have seen a significant rise in demand which has led to a need for extra capacity. To meet this shortfall, we are now able to bring back our twilight shift, enabling us taking further staff off Furlough.

Midtherm Laser will embrace the challenges that lie ahead, looking for new innovative ways to ensure Midtherm laser continues to be a market leader in the laser cutting industry.
